O presente artigo trata-se de um estudo temporal, quantitativo e descritivo dos casos de sarampo notificados no Brasil, de 2013 ao primeiro semestre de 2020, baseado nos dados disponíveis nos Boletins Epidemiológicos publicados no site do Ministério da Saúde. Neste estudo descreveu-se o número de notificações registradas no período e analisaram-se as regiões e estados com mais casos da doença. Encontrou-se que, nos últimos 7 anos, 38115 casos de sarampo foram notificados no Brasil, sendo que aproximadamente 96,6% foram registrados nos anos de 2018, 2019 e no primeiro semestre de 2020. Apesar das Regiões Norte e Sudeste terem sido, historicamente, mais propícias a disseminação da doença, pelo alto fluxo de migrantes e turistas, não parece ser previsível o próximo estado ou cidade que terá um surto de sarampo, visto que as taxas de cobertura vacinal podem estar baixas em todo o Brasil, influenciadas pelas campanhas anti-vacinas. Desta forma, todas as cidades brasileiras encontram-se suscetíveis a um surto de sarampo, basta que o vírus ingresse na população.
Introdução: Encefalite é decorrente de uma inflamação do parênquima cerebral, a qual resulta em disfunção neurológica, podendo ser desencadeada por infecção ou autoimunidade. Os vírus são os agentes infecciosos mais comuns associados à doença, sendo o Arbovírus, Enterovírus não pólio, Arenavírus, da Caxumba, do Sarampo, da Rubéola, da Gripe e da Raiva os mais recorrentes. Os sinais e sintomas presentes são febre, alteração no nível de consciência, cefaléia, déficits neurológicos focais e convulsão. A incidência de encefalite em crianças até o segundo ano de vida é de 16/100.000 crianças-ano, permanecendo alta até os 10 anos. Objetivos: Analisar o número de internações por Encefalite Viral no Brasil nos anos de 2010, 2015 e 2020, e explorar a possível causa do aumento. Materiais e métodos: Para a realização deste trabalho, utilizou-se dados disponíveis na Plataforma DataSus, estes encontrados da seguinte maneira: no site do DataSus, selecionamos respectivamente “Tabnet”, “Epidemiológicas e Morbidade”, “Morbidade Hospitalar do SUS (SIH/SUS)” ,“ Geral, por local de internação - a partir de 2008”, em abrangência geográfica seletamos “Brasil por Região e Unidade da Federação”, por fim “Encefalite Viral” e “Menor 1 ano”. Resultados: Em 2010, o Brasil havia registrado 91 internações por Encefalites Virais em crianças menores de 1 ano, em contrapartida, em 2020 houve um aumento de 54,95% deste número, chegando a 141 internações. Já em relação ao ano de 2015, onde haviam sido registradas 118 internações, foram 19,49% de aumento nas baixas hospitalares em razão da patologia, comparado ao ano de 2020. Conclusão: Com base nos resultados expostos acima, é notável o aumento dos casos no decorrer dos anos. Dentre os possíveis motivos que levaram a este acréscimo, destaca-se o grande número de casos de Chikungunya e Zika vírus, os quais são causadores de Encefalites e até mesmo a falta de recursos para diagnósticos precoces em muitos hospitais brasileiros.
