Em 29 de outubro de 1985, deu-se início a ocupação da Fazenda Annoni, na região norte do Rio Grande do Sul, que mobilizou 1.500 famílias, tornando-se assim um destaque na história da luta pela terra e pela Reforma Agrária, tanto pelo número de famílias envolvidas, como por ter sido o mais longo conflito vivenciado naquele período, estabelecendo as bases para a consolidação do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra -MST. Desde a ocupação, acampamento, assentamento provisório ao definitivo foram cerca de oito anos, marcados pela espera, organização e luta, circunstâncias estas que viabilizaram o exercício de muitas experiências nesse âmbito (BONAVIGO e BAVARESCO, 2008).A partir da formação do assentamento, este representou um novo momento para as famílias, significando a conquista da terra e dando início a uma nova etapa da luta. Tratava-se de resistir e permanecer na terra, a partir da estruturação da produção agrícola, por meio da cooperação (mutirões, associações, cooperativas) e de lançar as bases para o surgimento de uma nova comunidade. Ao final, foram desapropriados aproximadamente 9 mil hectares e 420 famílias foram assentadas
O objetivo do presente artigo, que se materializou através de entrevistas, foi ter uma visão geral das concepções que as professoras têm sobre sua prática como docentes de escola multisseriada. Num primeiro momento foi apresentado um apanhado geral sobre a educação rural no Brasil na segunda metade do século XX, a apresentação das escolas rurais de São Lourenço do Sul/RS, localizadas no quinto distrito e das professoras que atuaram nelas, bem como algumas entrevistas que tornaram possível uma abordagem inicial às concepções das mesmas sobre sua formação e prática. Buscando o aporte teórico de autores do campo da História da Educação a partir da perspectiva teórica da História Cultural, entre eles: Leite (2002), Paiva (1987), Santos e Moura (2010), Cellard (2008), Darnton (1990), Nóvoa (1992), entre outros.
