Highlights • The columnar and surface aerosol optical properties were combined and analyzed. • A tenfold increase in the scattering coefficient is observed in the dry season. • AERONET SSA values were higher 8.4 ± 2.9% compared to the SSA from situ measurements. • A SWARF AERONET-SBDART regression analysis shows a high correlation. • SWARFTOA is observed to be-3.66 ± 1.59 W.m-2 in the wet season.
In this work, it was sought to emphasize and articulate discussions about the environmental benefits provided by urban parks and their contributions to the population’squality of life, to evaluate the thermal comfort by the index of temperature and relative humidity of the air (ITU), being verified, the pertinent schedules for practice of physical activities and leisure by the population. Mãe Bonifácia park has different functions in the urban space due to the arboreal vegetation that constitutes it, among them benefits for the environmental quality, for the population’s health and well-being. The temperature and humidity indices obtained resulted in lower temperature values and higher humidity and consequently, greater thermal comfort within the park compared to values obtained in the general average of the entire urban region. Starting from this premise, it isextremely relevant that studies discuss the priority to non-urban space areas. It is important to emphasize the importance that park users must have when carrying out activities after 10 o’clock, mainly in relation to the use of sunscreen, use of light clothes and light colors and constant hydration, to relieve discomfort generated at these times. Keywords: Urban Parks.
This work aims to evaluate the possible relations between the confirmed daily cases of COVID-19 and the environmental parameters for the Cuiabá-Várzea Grande conurbation in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The data sets used to cover the rainy-dry periods, from January to December 2020, were achieved from a database of government institutions, and processed through the Spearman correlation test. Our results showed that atmospheric pressure and fire radiative power has a significant positive correlation, suggesting that these parameters favor the transmission of COVID-19. On the other hand, the relative humidity of the air and the total column of water vapor showed a significant negative correlation with the number of confirmed daily cases of COVID-19, which indicates that the water vapor present in the atmosphere acts in the regulation of virus transmission. Thus, taking into account the results obtained, there is a need for collaborative policies and measures among the three spheres of executive power in Brazil, to act in the surveillance of fire cases, which can favor the transmission of COVID-19. In addition, prevention and protection measures aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus continue to be indispensable.
