Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dan memiliki sumber daya alam yang beragam yang dapat dikembangkan dan mampu meningkatkan sumber devisa dan perekonomian negara. Potensi ala mini kerapkali ditemui di daerah pedesaan yang identik dengan anggapan terbelakang. Salah satu lokasi desa yang dapat dikembangkan dan belum banyak mendapat perhatian adalah Desa Beteng Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Petatas dan ternak kelinci menjadi sebuah potensi yang dapat dikembangkan dan menjadi peluang usaha bagi warga desa sekitar. Tim pengabdian pun berinisiatif untuk memberikan sosialisasi/penyuluhan terkait bagaimana memanfaatkan petatas menjadi bahan baku brownies dan mengembangkan usaha ternak kelinci. Dua hal tersebut bertujuan untuk membuka wawasan warga desa agar dijadikan alternatif mata pencaharian untuk meningkatkan perekonomian mereka. Tim pengabdian melakukan pengidentifikasian potensi desa, studi literatur, pengumpulan data, dan penentuan solusi. Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut, sosialisasi pun dilakukan dan didapati bahwa mayoritas warga belum sadar akan potensi usaha emanation petatas menjadi brownies dan ternak kelinci dapat dijadikan sumber pemasukan mereka. Warga Desa Beteng pun tampak antusias dan beberapa warga yang sudah mulai merintis usaha ternak kelinci menjadi sumber inspirasi warga lain. Begitupula dengan pembuatan brownies dari petatas, para ibu Desa Beteng dengan serius dan aktif dalam mengikuti sosialisasi ini. Monitoring terkait dua hal ini ke depan perlu dilakukan.
