Resolvemos abrir a apresentação da Revista The ESPecialist com uma passagem da obra de Clarice Lispector, A paixão segundo G. H., publicado em 1964. O trecho escolhido como epígrafe leva-nos a uma reflexão acerca do livre-arbítrio, do poder de escolha enquanto seres humanos pensantes e responsáveis por nossas ações e atitudes. Clarice Lispector, escritora, poetisa, jornalista, comemora em 2020 seu centenário como uma das escritoras mais lida no Brasil e traduzida no mundo. Somos fatais como bem exposto na obra, mas o que fazemos enquanto temos a liberdade de viver? E por que Clarice?
O objetivo do artigo é apresentar e discutir um projeto piloto de leitura e escrita para mulheres adultas em situação de privação de liberdade desenvolvido por Pesquisadores do Grupo de Pesquisa ILCAE. O projeto visa a trabalhar com a leitura em uma perspectiva pedagógica de multiletramentos que impliquem na construção de uma cidadania como uma atividade desejável. Desenvolvido como uma pesquisa na área de Linguística Aplicada transdisciplinar de base crítica, apresentamos primeiro a parceria estabelecida entre a Penitenciária Feminina da Capital e a Fundação São Paulo/PUC-SP. A seguir, delimitamos o escopo desta pesquisa no bojo dos princípios estabelecidos pelo trabalho. Finalmente, discutimos os resultados parciais encontrados no projeto piloto obtidos e os novos encaminhamentos traçados.

A revista The ESPecialist, em seu volume 41, n. 02, 2020, abre o editorial com a poesia de Caio Abreu, jornalista e escritor, cujo estilo pessoal abordava temas – medo, morte, sexo, solidão – considerados para muitos verdadeiros tabus, espinhosos, todavia, eram tratados com clareza e objetividade. Sem ter a noção de que viveríamos uma pandemia que alteraria nossos costumes significativamente, Abreu escreveu “vai passar, talvez não amanhã, mas dentro de um mês ou dois, quem sabe?” Verdade. “Quem sabe?” Incertezas em meio à Pandemia de Covid-19, somos instados a refletir sobre a sociedade que vivemos, os costumes, as crenças, os preconceitos, a (des)informação, o discurso de ódio e a luta diária para que a ciência seja compreendida e respeitada.
