Modification of banana starch (Musa paradisiaca L.) with BHET
Highlights• The chemical modification of banana starch with BHET caused changes in the morphology of its granules. • • Terephthalate and glycol groups were mainly bound to the carbon 6 of the starch. • • The modified starch showed a lower thermal stability respect to the pristine starch and further increased the amorphous regions. • • The films obtained from the modified starch had a higher electrical conductivity than the native starch.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
