<p style="text-align: justify;">Se presenta una investigación documental, mediante una amplia revisión bibliográfica, estudio de casos, revisión de artículos relacionados a la crisis financiera y económica mundial y sus efectos en el sistema bancario de Ecuador, con un enfoque cualitativo, con el objetivo de comprender las características del sistema financiero en este país, considerando asimismo, que presenta un sistema poco sofisticado y pequeño, que permanece fragmentado, donde está presente la existencia del control gubernamental sobre varias de las principales instituciones financieras, a pesar de la promoción al acceso a los servicios y la democratización del crédito, para así poder aumentar la productividad y la competitividad de sectores específicos de acuerdo a los lineamientos del Plan Nacional de Desarrollo. Se concluye, que los cambios que ha venido sufriendo Ecuador, en base al control de su Sistema Financiero es notable, entendiendo que estabilizarse, tomará algunos años más, requerirá un alto financiamiento y demandará, sobre todo, un real cambio de orientación del modelo económico. </p>

AbstractThe objective of this article is to present the trends shown by Ecuador and the other countries of Latin America in terms of the evolution of poverty and distributive inequality. To this end, information is used from the databases of institutions such as ECLAC, INEC, Ministry of Finance and SENPLADES, through which tables and graphs are presented that give us a perspective of this problem that persists in the region, although they have made progress in combating poverty and in reducing inequalities, these remain inherent characteristics of underdeveloped economies. Para tanto, utiliza-se informação das bases de dados de instituições como CEPAL, INEC, Ministério da Fazenda e SENPLADES, através das quais são apresentados tabelas e gráficos que nos dão uma perspectiva desse problema que persiste na região, embora eles progrediram no combate à pobreza e na redução das desigualdades, permanecem características inerentes às economias subdesenvolvidas. IntroducciónCon la frase célebre donde hay justicia no hay pobreza comienza este artículo. Una frase que desde la época en la que fue pronunciada y gravada continúa hasta hoy como si se hubiera pronunciado ayer y en nuestro continente. La lucha por la justicia, específicamente una retribución justa del trabajo y la riqueza, es lo que conlleva a una disminución de la pobreza no solo se da en Latinoamérica, es algo que se vive en todo el mundo. Sin embargo, la pobreza en Latinoamérica tiene una característica especial, la mala distribución de la riqueza, pues no somos un continente pobre, y sin recursos de subsistencia.
<p style="text-align: justify;">Desde tiempos antiguos ya se manejaba esta actividad, aunque no con bienes económicos principalmente, el ahorro es el excedente de cualquier bien económico al final de un periodo. Existen diferentes tipos de ahorro, así como diferentes instrumentos financieros para poder ahorrar e invertir al mismo tiempo, lo pueden realizar tantas personas, familias, empresas e incluso naciones. El ahorro se puede clasificar en ahorro privado y en ahorro público.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Los cambios en la tasa de interés, por ejemplo, pueden hacer que los ahorradores se sientan motivados o desmotivados a ahorrar. Un aumento en las tasas de interés puede hacer que los ahorradores tengan más razones para disminuir su consumo y ahorrar, o bien puede tener el efecto opuesto. Las reformas económicas de los últimos años, acompañadas de una mayor estabilidad económica y política en la región, han llevado a que el universo de inversionistas y prestamistas externos con exposición a Latinoamérica sea hoy más amplio que nunca. Dentro de la economía nacional, el sector privado es la fuente principal de ahorro. Las transferencias a los hogares, incluidos los pagos de prestaciones sociales, son el cauce principal a través del cual el gasto público afecta a la acumulación de ahorro privado. En este artículo se realizó una búsqueda sistematizada de información documental y se seleccionó aquellos datos que nos permiten esbozar una síntesis del ahorro en Ecuador.</p>
