O bioma cerrado tem passado por grandes processos de exploração para expansão agropecuária nas últimas décadas e isso tem causado grandes problemas ambientais. Desta forma, para promover uma conscientização ambiental que garanta a preservação do cerrado, é necessário o auxilio de todos, e a escola é uma das entidades que deve contribuir com projetos que vise à valorização e conservação do bioma. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o conhecimento sobre as espécies arbóreas do cerrado nos estudantes do ensino médio (1º ano) nas escolas públicas da cidade de Barreiras - BA. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida em 12 escolas estaduais aplicando um questionário com questões objetivas e subjetivas com o propósito de avaliação do nível de conhecimento dos estudantes sobre o cerrado. Através do diagnóstico foram escolhidas 2 escolas para a realização do plantio e do trabalho de sensibilização. Os resultados obtidos mostram que existe uma fragilidade na relação desses estudantes com o bioma cerrado e que essas escolas possuem um espaço arbóreo com um quantitativo maior de espécies exóticas de árvores em relação às nativas.
ResumoA Crotalária juncea é uma leguminosa originária da Índia e Ásia tropical, de clima tropical e subtropical, sendo bastante empregada como adubo verde por fornecer ao solo uma ótima quantidade de matéria orgânica além de ser importante para a fixação de nitrogênio. Uma utilidade ainda pouco conhecida da espécie, principalmente por agricultores, tem relação com seus efeitos alelopáticos. Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de extratos vegetais de Crotalaria juncea em diferentes dosagens sobre a germinação de feijão (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), milho (Zea mays L.) e quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa). O trabalho foi desenvolvido na Universidade do Estado da Bahia, no laboratório de sementes, na cidade de Barreiras-BA, realizado em duas etapas: a primeira etapa foi o plantio de Crotalaria juncea no campo experimental da Universidade do Estado da Bahia e a segunda etapa consistiu-se da colheita e montagem do experimento. Os tratramentos foram compostos por fatorial 3 x 5, sendo 3 espécies a receber os estratos (Zea mays, Vigna unguiculata, Chenopodium quinoa) e 5 concentrações de extrato de Crotalaria juncea (0% , 25% 50% 75% 100% ). O ensaio foi montado em Delineamento Inteiramente Casualizados com 4 repetições. Foram avaliadas a porcentagem de germinação, o comprimento da radícula e comprimento do hipocótilo. A análise estatística foi realizada pelo Software Assistat versão 7.6. A partir dos gráficos e do teste de média é possível concluir que houve efeito alopático negativo do extrato de Crotalaria juncea para todas as espécies, em todas as variáveis analisadas. Para as variáveis germinação e comprimento de radícula a quinoa se mostrou mais sensível ao efeito alelopático, enquanto que para comprimento de caulículo o feijão a espécie mais afetada.
