Abstract. In this paper we discuss various questions connected with translations of subsets of the real line. Most of these questions originate from W. Sierpiński. We discuss the number of translations a single subset of the reals may have. Later we discuss almost invariant subsets of Abelian groups.
Artykuł ukazuje specyficzne rozumienie czasu przez proroków na przykładzie Ezechiela, który pełnił swoją misję stróża pośród zesłańców (gola) w czasie niewoli babilońskiej w VI w. przed Chr. Jego zadaniem było przygotowanie Izraela na czas odnowy, który miał być dziełem Jahwe. Prorok na teraźniejszość, przeszłość i przyszłość patrzy wyłącznie z perspektywy relacji Jahwe – Izrael. Z jego wypowiedzi wyraziście wyłaniają się trzy etapy dziejów narodu, każdemu z nich poświęca osobną uwagę. Takie podejście proroka do dziejów narodu zadecydowało o podziale niniejszego artykułu na trzy punkty: 1. Czas teraźniejszy Izraela (wygnanie), 2. Czas dawnego Izraela, 3. Czas nowego Izraela. Objawienie się Jahwe Ezechielowi i powołanie go na proroka oraz stróża stało się punktem wyjścia w przesłaniu całej Księgi (Ez 1,1–3,21). Był to czas Ezechiela i czas zesłańców, który odsłaniał prawdę o Izraelu jako narodzie buntowników (Ez 2,3). Przyszłość miała jednak odsłaniać ostateczne zwycięstwo Jahwe, który odnowi swój lud (Ez 37,1-14) i pokona wszystkich przeciwników (Ez 38–39). Czas nowego Izraela został opisany przede wszystkim w ostatniej wizji (Ez 40–48).
