An airborne microwave radiometer has been thoroughly characterized by the Met Office, using a thermalvacuum test facility and flight test data. Scan dependence due to mirror reflectivity considerations, as well as calibration target thermometry, target thermal gradients, radiometer noise, and radiometer stability are quantified. A resultant accuracy of approximately 1 K is achieved.
We have built and characterized an injection-seeded, Q-switched, flash-lamp-pumped, eye-safe Er:glass laser that is suitable for coherent remote sensing. The output of the device is a 400-ns, single-frequency, transform-limited pulse of 1 mJ at 1.552 mum.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
