The purpose of this paper is to reveal the importance of a performance evaluation, in this case based on competencies. The authors designed an evaluation that includes the most common competencies related to certain type of employees; fuzzy logic was applied to analyze the results. There was a research on the state of the art; then, a methodology that includes several existing methods was proposed and results were analyzed in order to identify employee's improvement opportunities inside an organization. Key words: Performance, Evaluation, Competitions, Fuzzy logic. RESUMENEl objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer la importancia de la evaluación del desempeño, en este caso basado en competencias. Los autores diseñaron una evaluación que incluye las competencias más comunes relacionadas con determinado tipo de empleados; se aplicó lógica difusa para analizar los resultados. Se realizó una investigación del estado del arte; luego, se propuso una metodología que incluye varios métodos existentes y se analizaron los resultados, con el fin de identificar las oportunidades de mejoras de los empleados dentro de una organización.
