ResumenObjetivo: Determinar en qué medida los estilos de afrontamiento, la autoeficacia percibida, la salud mental positiva y las creencias saludables, en interacción, predicen la ocurrencia de pautas de autocuidado en salud con una muestra de 570 adultos jóvenes. Materiales y Métodos: Se aplicó una batería compuesta por instrumentos validados para evaluar la presencia de las variables criterio. Con la información obtenida se desarrollaron análisis descriptivos, de diferencias de medias y correlacionales, así como un análisis multivariado con un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (MEE). Resultados: Se identifican altos puntajes en los factores psicológicos protectores, en las creencias y en las prácticas saludables; así mismo, se reportan diferencias significativas en el autocuidado de acuerdo con el sexo y el estrato socioeconómico, y correlaciones importantes entre los factores psicológicos adaptativos con el autocuidado en salud. Por último, el MEE que mostró mayor ajuste, explica un 39% de la varianza asociada con las prácticas de autocuidado en salud. Conclusión: El modelo, aunque no es concluyente, puede brindar soporte conceptual y empírico para crear estrategias en promoción del autocuidado en salud con población de adulto joven. Introducción: Si bien en Colombia es frecuente la presencia de mujeres madres que cursan carreras profesionales, no se identifican estudios que permitan comparar el bienestar psicológico de estas poblaciones. Objetivo: Contrastar el bienestar psicológico en mujeres madres y no madres en el contexto universitario, y comparar si existen diferencias en los factores que componen dicho constructo en función de algunas variables sociodemográficas características de las madres universitarias. Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo retrospectivo. Se desarrolló un muestreo a conveniencia, en el cual participaron 435 estudiantes de pregrado de distintas carreras de una universidad pública del sur de Colombia (247 madres /188 no madres). Para la evaluación del bienestar psicológico se utilizó la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff, en su versión de 29 ítems. Resultados: No se evidencian diferencias estadísticas en los dos grupos, a excepción de las variables promedio académico y edad. Al interior del grupo de 247 madres, se identificaron diferencias en todas las dimensiones del bienestar psicológico al comparar con la mayoría de los otros criterios sociodemográficos indagados. Conclusión: Es necesario hacer un seguimiento periódico del bienestar psicológico de las madres universitarias y el establecimiento de acciones preventivas a fin de no comprometer su rendimiento académico y proyección a futuro de ellas y sus hijos.
La investigación tuvo como objetivo conocer desde la perspectiva de algunos actores organizacionales, la importancia que tienen los profesionales en Psicología en la realización de sus funciones laborales organizacionales y, a su vez, identificar que otros profesionales pueden desarrollar estas mismas funciones. La metodología se orientó por un estudio descriptivo ex post facto con diseño de solo post test. La recolección de información se realizó a través de un cuestionario ad hoc diseñado para los propósitos de la investigación. Participaron 106 actores organizacionales de cuatro municipios del sur de Colombia. El estudio concluye, desde la perspectiva de los participantes, que la mayoría de las funciones deben ser ejercidas por psicólogos, aunque se resalta que algunas pueden ser realizadas por Administradores de Empresas, profesionales en Salud y Seguridad en el Trabajo, Ingenieros Industriales y Civiles.
