Neste trabalho, objetiva-se traçar o perfil glicêmico dos usuários do Posto de Saúde do Município de Arvorezinha (RS). Participaram voluntariamente da pesquisa 240 usuários, que responderam a um questionário, sendo medida a glicemia de cada um. A avaliação do teor glicêmico em jejum foi feita por meio do sangue venoso, após período de, no mínimo, 8 horas de jejum, pelo teste de ponta de dedo (HGT), feito por um enfermeiro do referido posto. Os dados demonstram que 25% dizem não ser diabéticos, 59% não sabem se são e 16% sabem que são diabéticos (13% DM2 e 3% DM1). Verificou-se que 80% dos indivíduos mostram HGT normal, e 20% o apresentam alterado. Um total de 73% dos que têm o teste de ponta de dedo alterado possuem problema de pressão alta. Há diferença estatística significativa entre o HGT normal e o acima da normalidade de indivíduos com IMC abaixo do limite, normal, sobrepeso e obesidade (Teste-G = 19,78; p = 0,0002).
