Nowadays diesel power plants form the basis of distributed power generation in Russia, but they have disadvantages. The alternative variant is cogeneration plant based on the rotary-vane machine. One of the types of such machines is the rotary-vane external combustion vehicle (engine) developed in Pskov State University. Electrical subsystem of the plant requires its effective work to provide both start and generation modes. Development of such subsystem structure, employment of elements for links with other subsystems in the hierarchic control system is an actual task. The paper considers structures of the electrical part of the plant, simulation and experiment results.
The development of autonomous energy supply systems is among the priority ways of scientific and technological growth in the Russian Federation. The autonomous energy supply module providing the consumer with heat, electric power, hot and cold water can contain the different variants of the electric power subsystem. This paper considers three different variants of building the electric power subsystem for the rotary expansion engine used as a driving machine whereas the permanent magnet synchronous machine is used as a generator. Also the designed structure of 30 kW electric power supply subsystem is regarded.
Autonomous low power electric power plants working with variable speed energy sources or electric subsystems of cogeneration plants of some type need to increase the low speed or the low voltage of the system. In this paper the investigations and the results of the experiments conducted using different structures are given.

The possible application for PMSM is autonomous decentralized low-power source which requires electric starter-generator.</p><p>Structure designing electric starter-generator for the autonomous cogeneration plant based on the rotary-vane external combustion vehicle (RVECE) is mostly consists of designing electric energy generating system. But the designing and investigating system starting operating modes is also of interest.</p><p>The paper considers structures of the starter-generator for autonomous low-power sources based on RVECE, the test stand composition and the experiment results.<strong></strong></p>
