Las enfermedades gastrointestinales representan la afección más común en niños. Todo el que esté relacionado con los cuidados infantiles desde el nacimiento aprende y procura cuidar la alimentación e higiene del infante precisamente por controlar el contagio de enfermedades a través de microorganismos y bacterias. La lactancia materna es la principal opción para la alimentación del neonato hasta los 2 años de edad. Como en otras enfermedades infecciosas, los esfuerzos realizados en la prevención de las infecciones gastrointestinales han supuesto una constante labor investigadora en las últimas décadas, teniendo en cuenta la importancia, que como causantes de enfermedad y en muchos casos mortalidad, han tenido los patógenos intestinales en todo el mundo, especialmente en aquellos países con peores condiciones sociosanitarias. Nos hemos dispuesto a realizar una investigación bibliográfica a fin de conseguir con especificidad las investigaciones publicadas en artículos científicos respecto al diagnóstico y tratamiento de infecciones gastrointestinales cuyo extracto plasmaremos como resultado de esta investigación. Es de suma importancia los niveles de higiene, el acceso al agua potable, el cumplimiento de la inmunización pediátrica a las edades determinadas por el Sistema de Salud, así como la corresponsabilidad del Estado para colocar a disposición las vacunas correspondientes accesibles a toda la sociedad para controlar los niveles de morbilidad y mortalidad ocasionados por las infecciones gastrointestinales. Entre discusión y conclusiones encontramos que los cuidados pediátricos tienen varios orígenes entre los que se encuentran los socioeconómicos debido a la disponibilidad de agua potable o en su defecto, medios para esterilizarla, el tiempo y la influencia social de la madre para amamantar al niño al menos durante 2 años debido a que se ha comprobado los beneficios fisiológicos de la leche materna para la salud de infante, que luego se traducen en un ahorro para el Estado.
El estudio se basó en una exploración sobre las medidas de prevención en el control ambulatorio de los recién nacidos, en que algunas prácticas clínicas han demostrado ser benéficas, el diagnóstico y el tratamiento a las madres es la mejor forma de prevención con buenos controles y baja tasa de infección materna se logran ventajas de transcendencia en la vida del recién nacido sano y la madre por supuesto se debe procurar un buen apego que dependen en buena medida de no separarlos, estimular y orientar a la madre mucho más cuando es primeriza a fin de lograr ventajas emocionales, el contacto piel a piel con la madre y él bebe, la lactancia materna, en la asistencia al recién nacido la fortaleza de este trabajo incluye la responsabilidad del pediatra, es decir debe ser interdisciplinario, con la participación de enfermeras con experiencia en neonatología, es de suma importancia que en estos casos absolutos, la vida del bebe está en juego, por lo que el personal de salud que está presente debe estar adecuadamente capacitado y entrenado, debidamente equipado para ayudarlo, pudiendo por lo tanto morir y si en caso de subsistir será con consecuencias a lo largo de toda su vida, por lo que es complejo hallar un justo equilibrio ante el análisis de este proceso en el que nos enfrentamos a un recién nacido, como es su entrañable llegada a este mundo y sus contacto con su entorno familiar. Por consiguiente los organismos de salud, las maternidades deben estar centradas en la familia, en el respeto y el buen trato humano, así como cumplir con todos los estándares de calidad.
