Este artigo teve como objetivo analisar a obra “The Jung-White Letters”, destacando a importância do que se considera serem os temas centrais da obra: o arquétipo do Self, sua expressão na psique, sua natureza, dinâmica e propósito, e a imagem de Deus para a psicologia analítica. A metodologia aplicada à pesquisa foi a da análise de conteúdo. Em um debate interdisciplinar, Jung e White trataram de temas como interdisciplinaridade, ciência, teologia; a imagem de Deus para a psicologia analítica; o estudo do cristianismo como expressão do espírito de um tempo ou Zeitgeist; o bem e o mal; os símbolos. Na discussão da obra, destacou-se a existência de indicadores simbólicos de evolução da consciência, individual e coletiva, nas diversas representações de Deus, nas passagens do Velho e do Novo Testamento e na separação dos opostos no cristianismo. Por fim, reafirmou-se a relevância da leitura psicológica que se debruça sobre aspectos históricos e psicológicos da religião e a sua atualidade.
