Um den Herausforderungen gesellschaftlicher Veränderungen gerecht werden zu können, benötigen angehende Sozialpädagog:innen und Sozialarbeiter:innen umfassende Kompetenzen. Die sozialarbeiterische Kompetenzentwicklung innerhalb eines dualen Studiums kann dabei als ein rekursives, prozessuales und reflexives Geschehen beschrieben werden. Reflexivität als ein Akt des kritischen Denkens ist eng mit der aktiven Anpassung an Veränderungen und zugleich mit Unsicherheiten verbunden. Der Gedanke, dass die (Kompetenz-)Entwicklung hin zur Performanz und somit das professionelle Werden nicht ohne Reflexion erfolgen kann, ist der Grundton dieses Werkes. In diesem kommen dual Studierende zu Wort und reflektieren ihre psychosozialen Realitäten zwischen einer Praxisanalyse und der kritischen Beobachtung der Versorgungssituation.
Zweifelsohne nimmt Beratung, in welchem Kontext sie auch stattfinden mag, für sich in Anspruch, den vermeintlich Ratsuchenden zu helfen. Spezifizieren wir das Feld der Beratung auf die berufs-und organisationsbezogene Beratung, so lässt sich dieser Aussage mit gutem Gewissen zustimmen.So konstatiert Giesecke, dass Beratung eine Grundform pädagogischen Handelns darstellt (vgl. Giesecke 2000, S. 87 ff.). Betrachten wir Beratung im Kontext der Erwachsenenbildung, so lässt sich feststellen, dass sie ratsuchenden Organisationen, Teams oder Einzelpersonen eine nicht zu unterschätzende Entscheidungs-und Orientierungshilfe bietet. Ein weiterer Fokus dieser berufs-und organisationsbezogenen Beratung liegt auf der Planung, Koordination und Durchführung von Lehraktivitäten mit dem Ziel, sowohl die eigenen Kompetenzen und Ressourcen zu stärken als auch diejenigen der entsprechenden Organisation.
