2087 422. Experiments towards the Synthesis of Corrins. Part I. The A Novel Proline Preparation and Reactions of Some A1-Pyrrolines. Synthesis.
One of us (H.F.E.) acknowledges with gratitude an equipment grant from the Schweizerischer Nationalfonds zur Forderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung under project number 2.826.73 and the other (J.C.W.S) wishes to express his appreciation of the encouragement given and experimental facilities provided by Prof. G. Schwarz in the Department of Biophysical Chemistry of the Biocentre. We also wish to thank Mr. A . Lustig for making the centrifuge measurements and Mr. H . Hammerich for his technical assistance. 213.Recherches dans la sCrie des cyclitols XLV. Action des diazoalcanes sur la pentahydroxy-2,4,6/3,5-cyclohexanone et sur son d6rivC penta-0 -ac6tyl& I. Etude des spiro-6poxydesI)z)Summary. On treatment with diazomethane, 2,4,6/3,5-penta-acetoxy-cycIohexanone (penta-0-acetyl-myo-inosose-2 or -scyllo-inosose) gave only a spiroepoxide. I n contrast, replacement of diazomethane by higher diazoalkanes furnished a mixture of alkylspiroepoxides and of ring expansion products (cycloheptanone derivatives). The configuration and the reactions of the spiro-epoxides have been studied. l) 2, Toutes les substances chirales sont sous formc rackmique; on a supprime dans le tcxtc Ics ddsignations (&) ou DL. Rdt. 76%. On crishllise dam l'eau bouillante.
