Dr ALLAIN, Me COTHENET et Dr VAUTHEY, Deux dépotoirs gallo-romains à Argenlomagus (Cne de Saint-Marcel, Indre). De ces deux dépotoirs de dimensions restreintes, l'un a livré un mobilier assez pauvre ; l'extrême rareté de la sigillée, la présence de trois monnaies de bronze gauloises, malheureusement illisibles, et d'un fragment d'un bracelet de schiste attestent la persistance des traditions indigènes dans un ensemble précoce, pert-être pré-augustéen. L'autre, beaucoup plus riche, a fourni tout un ensemble céramique où la sigillée occupe une place de choix avec sept vases reconstitués (2 coupes Drag. 27, dont une marque OP.MI = MICCIO, - 3 bols Ritterling 9,-2 plats Drag. 18, marques VIRTHVS et MACCARVS) et un seul fragment de sigillée à décors moulés de la Graufesenque. La poterie commune et domestique est abondante. Sont également à mentionner : deux vases en céramique sablée (un vase ovoïde brunâtre et une coupe tripode rouge saumonné), une monnaie de Claude recueillie au fond de la fosse et une fibule à ressort protégé, complétant un ensemble datable approximativement du règne de Néron. Par ailleurs, une monnaie d'Auguste, trouvée à proximité immédiate de cette deuxième fosse, est intéressante par la stylisation de l'avers.

Huvelin, Trouvaille ďantiniani à Chilleurs-au-Bois (Loiret). — Sur le territoire de la commune de Chilleurs-au-Bois (Loiret) qui a déjà livré plusieurs trouvailles de monnaies romaines, a été mis à jour en 1961 un petit trésor d'environ 150 antoniniani de Philippe I à Claude II et Victorin. Ce dépôt, où les monnaies frappées à Cologne pour Postume sont en majorité, vient s'intégrer à un groupe de découvertes monétaires dont la thésaurisation cesse fin 269 et qui sont en grande partie localisées entre la Meuse et la Loire.
André COTHENET, Les monnaies gauloises d'Argentomagus. L'importance des trouvailles numismatiques déjà réalisées par l'équipe du Dr Allain dans les dépotoirs des Mersans et au Champ de l'Image, à Saint-Marcel (Indre), incite à élaborer un premier essai de synthèse. La variété d'origine des monnaies gauloises peut surprendre à première vue ; contrairement au cas général les monnaies bituriges sont en nette minorité : les espèces viennent surtout des cités qui entouraient celle des Bituriges et même des voisins de celle-ci. Deux oboles de Marseille constituent l'apport le plus lointain. Mais le cercle des provenances n'est pas fermé : ni les Eduens, ni les Ségusiaves ne sont représentés. Il est tentant de conclure, pour expliquer l'anomalie, qu'Argentomagus a joué un grand rôle commercial au début de l'occupation romaine. Divers indices permettent de croire que les négociants de la vallée du Rhône y apportaient leurs marchandises, plutôt que leurs monnaies, et qu'au contraire les acheteurs venus des contrées voisines y laissaient leur propre numéraire.
André COTHENET, Monumenta Gergoviana. Un petit dépôt apparemment recueilli sur le plateau de Gergovie comportait essentiellement, outre un chaton en pâte de verre, quatre intailles, dont trois seulement ont été conservées : une tête de Silène, en lapis-lazuli, une autruche et un griffon en cornaline, d'une facture artistique attribuable à un atelier méditerranéen de l'antiquité. Elles étaient associées à six monnaies gauloises : deux en argent, quatre en bronze, ces dernières d'origine Arverne. Toutes sont contemporaines de la guerre des Gaules ou de fort peu postérieures. Leur présence permet d'attribuer une date concomitante aux intailles, objets importés et de grand prix. Il est tentant de supposer que ces intailles avaient été recueillies par les habitants de Gergovie sur les corps des centurions romains tombés lors de l'assaut et abandonnés sur place.
