In this study, the theoretical prediction and experimental results obtained by the stimulation of sorption processes of gas-adsorbent systems exposed to dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) are presented. It is experimentally determined that critical pressures for CO 2 -silicagel and SF 6 -silicagel systems exist. The values of these critical pressures for investigated systems are obtained as 15 and 170 Torr, respectively. The existence of a critical pressure for adsorption stimulated by DBD indicates that there are two opposite processes: one is additional adsorption, and the other is desorption. The degree of dominance of these phenomena is different under various conditions, and it specifies the adsorption mechanism that is stimulated by DBD.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
