The first rhodium(I)-catalyzed asymmetric addition of organoboronic acids to oxabicyclic alkenes is reported. This asymmetric ring-opening (ARO) reaction can proceed in high yield under very mild conditions with electronically diverse organoboronic acids, in a highly diastereoselective and enantioselective manner.
