The chemoselective electrochemical cleavage of allyl aryl ethers catalyzed by Ni(bipy) 3 2+ 2BF 4 -was shown to proceed through electrogenerated Ni(0) complexes with the formation of π-allyl Ni(II) species, which are in turn reduced at the same potential as the initial Ni(II)/Ni(0) reduction. The important role of magnesium ions in the recycling of the nickel species was established.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
