The aim of the study was to study the effect of diets using the potentially probiotic drug Bacillus amyloliquefaciens KB54 as part of compound feed (the rate of administration is 0.1% of the total diet, the content of viable spores in the final product is 106 CFU/g) in the diets of laying hens of the Dekalb cross. In the course of the study, it was established that the viability indicators of laying hens were at a high level and the safety of livestock in the studied groups during the period of the experiment was 100%; egg production in the experimental group was 96.7%, which is 2.3% more than in the control group of laying hens; chickens in the experimental group exceeded the control in growth intensity, which affected an increase in live weight by 12.5%, or 188.5 grams, which is 1.7 percentage points or 25.2 grams more than in the control group; feed costs for 10 eggs and 1 kg of egg mass in the experimental group were 1.43 and 2.36 kg, respectively, which is 11.7 and 14.5% lower than the control values. In this regard, we recommend using the probiotic preparation Bacillus amyloliquefaciens KB54 in the diets of laying hens, introduced into the compound feed in the amount of 0.1% of the total diet with the content of viable spores in the final product 106 CFU/g.
The article considers the issues of the peculiarities of how the technological stress influences the indicators of red blood cells in pigs. Clinically healthy animals were selected at the stage of mobilization of the development of stress response according to the principle of pairs of analogues: group I - breeding boars, group II - breeding sows. The oxygen budget of the body, determined by the indicators of red blood cells, during the development of a stress reaction in breeding pigs of “mature age” is also determined by their gender. Boars had average values of erythrocytes and hemoglobin in reference values, but the degree of saturation of erythrocytes with hemoglobin was lower than normal and lower than that of sows. This may indicate that boars experience a greater shortage of oxygen supply to the tissues. Sows, in general, are more stress-resistent, as evidenced by the values of the ratio of lymphocytes and neutrophils, as well as their erythrocyte indicators. They differed from boars by a significantly lower level of erythrocytes and the reference level of hemoglobin in all examined individuals. In sows, the indicator of erythrocyte saturation with hemoglobin was significantly higher than in boars.
The article deals with the issues of the influence of heat stress that occurs in the summer on the indicators characterizing the reproductive qualities. Purebred sows of tested Poltava meat breed of different genotypes were investigated: Group I - individuals-offspring obtained by the method of introductory crossing using the blood of early maturing meat breed (blood content 12.5 %), Group II - individuals obtained by the method of introductory crossing using the blood of the Finnish Landrace (blood content of 12.5 %). It was found that in sows of the Poltava meat breed with the blood of early maturing meat breed, the number of live piglets at birth significantly exceeds the indices of sows with the blood of the Finnish Landrace by 8.27 % at p≤0.05. According to the analysis of Cv, these natural and technological conditions had the greatest influence on the duration of the service period in sows of Group I. Wherein, the least influence of these natural and technological conditions was found for the indicator of the duration of pregnancy. Animals with the blood of an early maturing meat breed were more adaptable to these natural and technological conditions.
The skin performs the most important physiological functions of the body. The protective function is the main among them. This article presents the results of studies of how the technological stress affects the protective properties of pig skin depending on the animals’ age. The parameters of the skin, characterizing the epidermis, the main protective skin barrier, were studied in domestic Poltava Meat Breed pigs of different ages. The skin epidermis in animals of all studied age groups is actively involved in the performance of protective functions. Upon reaching the live weight of 100 kg, the young boars of the breed experience a great technological load, which causes tension in the skin protective systems and, thus, activation of these systems. This results in greater values of the epidermis thickness comparing to adult boars (by 17.22% (p⩽0.05)) due to an increase in its inner (underlying) layers (by 33.05% (p⩽0.001)). The stratum corneum of the young boars’ epidermis is thinner but more dense, with pronounced sudanophilia. With pigs reaching their adulthood, the tension in their protective factors decreases and stabilizes. In adult boars, the stratum corneum is thicker (a significant difference is 6.82 μm or 28.14%), but it is more susceptible to keratinization, is looser and has pronounced fibrillation. These changes probably mark the already developed adaptation to the existing natural and technological conditions.
