Студенческая, 38 Книжный рынок художественной литературы в России является одним из крупней-ших в мире по количеству новых названий, появляющихся в печати. Однако изучен он недостаточно. В статье пре дпринята попытка установить, эластичен ли спрос на кни-ги по ценам и доходу и, исходя из полученных результатов, разработать рекомендации для управленцев книжного бизнеса. С этой целью построены модель спроса на художе-ственную литературу в целом и модели спроса на книги отдельных жанров. Особенность моделей спроса на художественную литературу -включение в детерминанты спроса таких показателей качества содержания книги, как число человек, оценивших книгу, и ее рейтинг, рассчитанный на основании этих оценок. Оценка модели осуществлялась на данных одной из книжных розничных сетей Северо-Западного федерального округа. Расчеты показали, что спрос на книги не эластичен по цене и книги являются товаром роскоши. Однако при оценке модели на подвыборках жанров товарами роскоши оказа-лись только русская и зарубежная проза, зарубежная фантастика и поэзия. Результаты исследования функции спроса представляют интерес как для розничных сетей, так и для издательств.Ключевые слова: книжный рынок, функция спроса, эластичность спроса по цене, эла-стичность спроса по доходу, товар роскоши.
