In this paper we will present a new dynamic point cloud compression based on different projection types and bit depth, combined with the surface reconstruction algorithm and video compression for obtained geometry and texture maps. Texture maps have been compressed after creating Voronoi diagrams. Used video compression is specific for geometry (FFV1) and texture (H.265/HEVC). Decompressed point clouds are reconstructed using a Poisson surface reconstruction algorithm. Comparison with the original point clouds was performed using point-to-point and point-to-plane measures. Comprehensive experiments show better performance for some projection maps: cylindrical, Miller and Mercator projections.
In this paper we present a novel no-reference video quality measure, NR-FFM (no-reference frame–freezing measure), designed to estimate quality degradations caused by frame freezing of streamed video. The performance of the measure was evaluated using 40 degraded video sequences from the laboratory for image and video engineering (LIVE) mobile database. Proposed quality measure can be used in different scenarios such as mobile video transmission by itself or in combination with other quality measures. These two types of applications were presented and studied together with considerations on relevant normalization issues. The results showed promising correlation values between the user assigned quality and the estimated quality scores.
This paper shows a new DWT based OFDM algorithm which significantly simplifies signal processing in the transmitter and receiver. Unlike conventional DWT based OFDM a new algorithm does not use digital modulation of subcarriers either IDWT in the transmitter. The output signal from the transmitter is formed by summing the signals on the individual subchannels, encoded with the Manchester code and sampled at appropriate frequencies. In the receiver, the channel signal and data is reconstructed using DWT and Haar wavelet. Although the signal transmission is achieved using amplitude modulation, the paper shows that BER performance is commensurable to BPSK or DMWT based OFDM in the presence of AWGN.
ICT generates changes on the business processes in a way management has not expected, subsequently the importance to understand them is extremely important. The research included 209 companies in Croatia, classified by size, total revenue, business sectors and number of employees; as four variables used in the research. The research investigates whether the introduction of computers, computer net-works, Internet, Mobile internet, e-mail, common databases or electronic business has led to change the business processes of the company. In 79% of the surveyed companies, those changes occurred. Whether there is a relationship be-tween the presence of business processes changes and four individual independent variables in this study, was analyzed by the chi-square test. Descriptive meth-od, quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistical methods, generalization and specialization, comparative analysis, mathematical and graphical methods were used in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
