Cet article étudie la manière dont la voix des séries voyage ainsi que les caractéristiques genrées qui traversent l'Atlantique avec elle. Il s'agit, à partir d'entretiens avec des professionnelles de doublage ayant travaillé sur les séries Desperate Housewives (ABC, 2004(ABC, -2012 et Gossip Girl (The CW, 2007-2012), et en s'appuyant sur une étude des contenus et des formes audiovisuelles, de déterminer quelles sont les logiques économiques et culturelles à l'oeuvre dans les modalités de transposition des voix féminines dans les séries doublées. Comment les contextes économiques et culturels qui président au processus de doublage sont-ils susceptibles d'influencer les représentations genrées dans un processus d'acculturation ? Le potentiel subversif parfois attribué aux séries américaines contemporaines est susceptible d'être remis en cause, pour la version française, par une interprétation figée des codes du genre télévisuel et des codes genrés. Cette interprétation est liée à la multiplicité des instances impliquées dans la production de la version française.
