An ultrasound-enhanced method has been developed for the synthesis of a variety of thioesters from benzoyl chlorides and 2-mercaptobenzoxa(thia)zoles. Applying this methodology, 14 compounds were synthesized in excellent yields.
Oxadiazoles are heterocyclic compounds with a variety application in many pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals products. We reported here the convenient synthesis of 3-trichloromethyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles from trichoroacetoamidoxime and RC(O)Cl (R= methyl ethyl, propyl, Ph, CH 2 Cl, CHCl 2 , CCl 3 ) by one pot reaction.

The synthesis and reactivity of α-oxoketenes dithioacetals (S,S-acetals), general structure [(R¹C=OC(R²)=C(SR³) (SR 4 )], are reported. We also showed the application of S,S acetals as synthons for efficient synthesis of isoxazoles, pyrazoles, indazoles, thiophenes, dithiol thiones, pyridines, pyrimidines and other heterocycles. This work aims to review the importance of α-oxoketenes dithioacetals in organic chemistry during the past few years.
