Education has been known as the best tool in the world for developing a human being from darkness to lightness. Different research scholars argue that education can be formal, informal, or non-formal. Apart from that, a better and more tasteful education should bring about changes socially, politically, economically, and culturally. Human beings manage to handle and solve different problems through education. This will also solve the misconception that comes from the other side of the illiterate population about the concept of being educated. This will empower a person with the knowledge to face and develop the environment. Having these skills is what is called education and sustainable development. The study discusses ideas about the goals of education and sustainable development. Learners live on what they have learned from school. The study insists on more consideration being given to practical issues than theory. The study explains sustainable development from three perspectives: economy, society, and environment. Skills make the world satisfied. Education and Sustainable Development (ESD) and satisfying the environment.
The study sought to establish effectiveness of Cooperative Learning in Literature in English Subject among government Secondary Schools in Dodoma City, Tanzania. Through survey research design, questionnaires were distributed to 160 students who took the Literature in English subject but the respondent rate was 150 (93.75%). Data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and Pearson product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The study revealed that the rate of cooperative learning effectiveness is high. This is due to the fact that students either strongly agreed or agreed with all the items in the questionnaire regarding effectiveness in Literature in English. Further, the study concludes that the achievement in Literature in English subject is high. This is due to the fact that students agreed with all the items in the questionnaire regarding the achievement in Literature in English subject. Finally, the study established that there is a significant relationship between interest in Literature in English subject and students’ academic achievement in the subject. The study recommends that teachers should strive to maintain the effectiveness in cooperative learning which is the key factor for learning effectiveness. They should also take advantage of students’ interest in Literature in English subject as a way to mobilize them maintain positive attitude toward that subject. Secondly, teachers should try to convince students who are not taking the Literature in English subject to do so since the subject is manageable as students who take it performed well. Lastly, since interest in learning increases students achievement in Literature in English subject, there is need to inculcate the positive attitude toward Literature in English subject since primary school level so that when students join secondary schools they already have interest in the subject.
The review understands learning using communication technologies as the solutions for education in 21st century. The teachers are trying to adapt the uses of technologies in learning and teaching. Students learn from their teachers with the use of technologies. The use of equipment like computers, computers Programmers, speakers, cameras, and equipment’s for disable students in the classroom facilitate learning in the class creating an inclusive environment in the classroom. The focus of the present study is to analyze various papers on Learning and communication technologies in line with effectiveness in the process of teaching and learning from 2013 up to 2021 July. The study selected 30 articles using Google scholar in getting the data from the different journals. The results indicated the interest’s and attitude in technologies in learning process as well as the system has advantages for both students, teacher and solve the student’s diversity needs. Due to some challenges faced, by the use of communication technologies the study suggested that the government should support the system especially in rural area. Training is required for teachers to increase the motivation level for better learning outcomes. Special consideration should be made for students with disabilities. The review suggested the next review to be done in relation to the effectiveness of technologies in assessment and examination process for the students with disability.
The use of technology in education should focus on treating students at all levels of education in the same manner, resulting in a change in the teaching and learning process and better learning outcomes for qualitative change in education. The study used Google Scholar for scanning and getting the information. This study seeks to scan factors associated with educational technology for equality. The review selected papers from 2014, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021. The selected papers are based on educational technologies for equality in elementary, primary, secondary, and tertiary education. The paper found that there is a need to make sure that everyone has the possibility to access technology, regardless of their disability. The paper suggests that education technology needs to consider equality in terms of gender, race, disability, language, social, and economic status, as well as academic hierarchy. These parameters need to be checked in order to have equality in the use of technology. The success of that will lead to a paradigm shift in education in all sectors, starting at the root of education. The papers recommend that the government make policies about educational technology in all of the education systems, from the root of education to higher education. The application of technology to all foundations of education will lead to sustainable development in education.
