A través del paso del tiempo han surgido alternativas para la generación de energía, una de ellas es la celda de combustible microbianas, mediante este método se aprovecha la energía residual de los microorganismos, sin embargo, ha presentado deficiencias en su aplicación debido al rápido uso del sustrato por parte de los microbios para generar energía eléctrica. En este artículo se propone la implementación de celdas de combustible microbianas de plantas, las cuales agregan microorganismos al sistema de generación de energía y a través del proceso de fotosíntesis propician una interacción benéfica para el sustrato, permitiendo conservar sus propiedades, necesarias para la generación de energía eléctrica. Para almacenar la energía generada por la P-MFC es necesario conocer el comportamiento del voltaje, para así desarrollar el método más eficiente de recolección de energía diseñando un dispositivo de menor tamaño, dando la posibilidad crear un prototipo menos invasivo para la planta.
