A proposta investiga características de estilo, peculiaridades narrativas e de experiência com o desconhecido no subgênero desktop horror, filmes por interface de computador ou múltiplas telas. Amizade Desfeita 2-Dark Web (2018), de Stephen Susco, é a produção para a análise da fruição estética e seus desdobramentos tecnológicos. Destacando-se pela relação performática entre os personagens, o longa-metragem distinguese pela simulação do espaço hipermediado da web ao mesmo tempo em que a abordagem da apropriação criminosa da internet se aproxima das reflexões contemporâneas sobre a escuridão no horror e os limites do pensamento.
O artigo traz alguns apontamentos sobre o dispositivo na formação do olhar do espectador no cinema e problematiza modos de ver e fruir as imagens em movimento. O dispositivo do olhar é pensado como o comportamento visual organizado na narrativa e as estratégias deste para afetar a forma de ver do público, os respectivos discursos em intentar o apelo sensível. Autores como Friedrich Kittler, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht, Jonathan Crary, Marilena Chauí, Michel Foucault e Laurent Mannoni serviram de base para a reflexão. A discussão começa com aspectos teóricos em torno do conceito e se estende para três processos de formação do olhar ao longo do tempo por meio de alguns instrumentos visuais anteriores ao cinematógrafo. Tais objetos deixaram rastros no modo como a visão se compõe diante de telas e nas subjetividades derivadas da relação humana com esses artefatos.
O artigo discute as origens da câmera subjetiva diegética no cinema de horror found footage a partir do pressuposto de que tal estratégia narrativa possui relações com a câmera subjetiva do slasher, subgênero que gerou polêmica nas décadas de 1970 e 1980. O texto problematiza o uso da câmera subjetiva e a transformação em diegética nos anos 2000, tendo como foco as características de nossos modos de olhar nas produções de horror contemporâneas. Pontuamos algumas mudanças no consumo do filme de horror após a metade do século passado e as relacionamos com as análises de sequências de quatro produções: As Fitas de Poughkeepsie (2007), direção de John Erick Dowdle; [Rec] (2007), [Rec] 2 – possuídos (2009), ambos realizados por Jaume Balagueró e Paco Plaza; e um episódio de V/H/S/2 (2013), filme de Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard, Eduardo Sanchez, Gregg Hale, Timo Tjahjanto, Gareth Huw Evans e Jason Eisener.
Este artigo busca avaliar até que ponto a internet modifica a relação entre os grandes veículos de comunicação e seu público. Para isso, se parte de uma analise descritiva de caso com base em Wolton (2003 e 2010) e bibliografia selecionada.
