A problemática socioambiental tem evidenciado a importância de ações de proteção à natureza que considere a sociedade como parte do processo de planejamento e gestão, sendo o Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação, importante ferramenta na implantação destas. Os Parques Urbanos constituem de espaço natural protegido, dispondo, geralmente, de estrutura para realização de diversas atividades contribuindo para o bem-estar das pessoas. O presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar a percepção socioambiental de frequentadores do Parque da Jaqueira na cidade de Recife, Pernambuco. Por meio de uma abordagem qualiquantitativa, foram aplicados 70 questionários semiestruturados. Os dados foram analisados de acordo com a metodologia de Análise do conteúdo. Os entrevistados possuíam idades entre 18 a 64 anos, 74,3% já ouviram falar sobre Unidades de Conservação e as descreveram como espaço com elementos naturais sem interferência humana que devem ser protegidas, 47,8% relataram desconhecer que o Parque se trata de Unidade de Conservação. A infraestrutura e atividades realizadas no Parque foram apontadas como principais atrativos. Notou-se que apesar dos diferentes significados apresentados para natureza e Unidades de Conservação, se entende a importância da proteção e influência destas na qualidade de vida da população e preservação do meio ambiente.
As bacias hidrográficas urbanas passaram a constituir espaços relevantes para o planejamento e gestão das cidades, pois as dinâmicas processuais inerentes aos domínios fluvial e interfluvial refletem no cotidiano dos residentes urbanos, principalmente quando de eventos pluviais intensos, que desencadeiam eventos de enchentes e inundações. Neste artigo, de caráter teórico-conceitual, buscou-se avaliar como o uso e ocupação urbana promove modificações sobre a dinâmica superficial de fluxos hídricos, promovendo enchentes e, principalmente, inundações quando da intensificação de precipitações sazonais, levando a existência de risco geomorfológico a habitantes de planícies fluviais e consequente busca por medidas de controle para tais eventos naturais, mas potencializados pelo processo de urbanização. Assim, o artigo em questão busca contribuir como subsídio a projetos e estudos voltados para o planejamento e gestão para ocupação de áreas de bacias hidrográficas que sofrem um crescente processo de urbanização que potencializam eventos de inundações.
Este trabalho tem o objetivo de mostrar um estudo inicial sobre o uso e a ocupação do solo nas margens do riacho de Ouro Preto, bairro de Ouro Preto em Olinda – Pernambuco, que faz parte da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Paratibe, sendo um canal fluvial de 1ª ordem afluente do rio Fragoso. A área estudada apresenta uma configuração retilínea, com perfil longitudinal e pontos de maior profundidade, desse modo, o bairro sofre eventos de alagamentos decorrentes do período chuvoso. A intensificação de residências nas margens do canal é uma das causas para ocorrências de enchente no bairro, porém, isso tende a acontecer também por ausência de planejamento e gestão, voltadas para o controle dos dos espaços urbanos.
