RESUMENs muy común observar que los estudiantes de los primeros grados E tienen dificultades al momento de reconocer los elementos de una figura geométrica, por ello es importante utilizar materiales concretos para el aprendizaje de tan importante capacidad. En ese sentido en la presente investigación se planteó como objetivo determinar la eficacia de la técnica del origami en la enseñanza de las figuras y sus elementos geométricos. El tipo de investigación es experimental, que se caracteriza por la manipulación de la variable independiente: "técnica del origami" que genera efectos sobre la variable dependiente: figuras y elementos geométricos. El diseño de investigación es cuasiexperimental, con un grupo control y otro grupo experimental, con prueba de entrada (pre -test) prueba de salida (post -test). La muestra fue no probabilística seleccionada a conveniencia de la investigadora, los estudiantes del segundo grado "B" fueron el grupo control, los estudiantes del segundo grado "A" fueron el grupo experimental. Los resultados demuestran que en el grupo control el 89% que representa a 8 estudiantes alcanzo el nivel de inicio, el 11% que representa 1 estudiante en proceso, mientras que en el grupo experimental el 80% que representa 8 estudiantes alcanzo el nivel de logro destacado, el 20% que representa 2 estudiantes se ubicó en logro previsto. De los expuesto se concluye que el origami como técnica de enseñanza es eficaz, dado que los estudiantes del grupo experimental han mejorado en el nivel de aprendizaje de figuras y elementos geométricos.
