PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Fantástico, Procedimento de repetição, Duplo, Singularização ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes the main aspects of the fantastic in the tale "É de confundir!", by Auguste Villiers de l' Isle-Adam, and its relation to the contemporary writer Alain Robbe-Grillet. To do this, we worked with the idea that in Villiers the fantastic consists mainly of linguistic aspects, among which stand out the procedure of repetition, which reappears in Robbe-Grillet with similar characteristics, and the estrangement procedure. We use as theoretical framework the studies by Remo Ceserani, Viktor Chklovski, Sigmund Freud and Gérard Genette, in order to present that the fantastic effect both in Villiers as in Robbe-Grillet is directly related to the procedure that makes repetition, in both writer, the fantastic element almost purely linguistic.
This essay sought to make a reading of the novel Respiração artificial, by Ricardo Piglia, looking to notice indications of a critique of modernity and postmodernity. In this sense, we use studies of Harvey (2012) and Jameson (1997) as support for reading and critical understanding of modernity and postmodernity.
