A negligência no uso de preservativo e a exposição ao risco de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis no ensino superior: um paradoxo entre informações e práticas Negligence in condom use and exposure to risk of sexually transmitted infections in higher education: a paradox between information and practice RESUMO Infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (ISTs) são síndromes causadas por diversos microrganismos. Entre 2006 e 2016, a taxa de uma significativa IST, a AIDS (do inglês, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), quase triplicou entre homens de 15 a 19 anos e, entre os de 20 a 24 anos, mais que duplicou. Nesse contexto, o estudo objetiva identificar o risco à exposição de ISTs relacionado ao uso de preservativo em estudantes universitários. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo descritiva, quantitativa e transversal realizada no Centro Universitário UniEVANGÉLICA, Anápolis -Goiás, cuja amostra foi composta por estudantes dos primeiros e dos últimos períodos de engenharia civil, direito e medicina. Os participantes responderam o questionário adaptado da Pesquisa de Conhecimentos Atitudes e Práticas na População Brasileira (PCAP) e foram incluídos maiores de 18 anos. Dos 149 participantes incluídos, 49% (73/149) eram do sexo feminino e 51% (76/149) do sexo masculino. Os dados mostraram que indivíduos com 21 anos ou mais possuem mais chances de não utilizar o preservativo. Os primeiros períodos utilizam o preservativo com maior frequência em relação aos últimos. Ser do sexo masculino foi apontado como fator protetor ao uso da camisinha. Em relação aos cursos não foi encontrada diferença estatística (p>0,05) quanto à utilização da camisinha. Aqueles que não possuem parceria fixa alegaram usar mais frequentemente o método. Dos universitários, 61,8% referem adesão ao uso de preservativos, contudo, o risco de contrair ISTs/HIV/AIDS permanece elevado. Assim, os dados revelados no estudo contribuem para elaboração de ações e programas que focalizem não apenas a distribuição de preservativos, mas possibilitem a reflexão para tomada de atitudes como o autocuidado, a prevenção de doenças e a promoção da saúde sexual e reprodutiva.Palavras-Chave: IST.
