Ana Longoni, Universidad de Buenos Aires/CONICET 1 Parto de la inquietud que me produce la insistente recuperación de Tucumán Arde -entre un conjunto sumamente acotado de experiencias de la vanguardia latinoamericana de los años 60, que incluye también ciertas zonas de la producción de los brasileños Lygia Clark y Hélio Oiticica-en una serie de importantes exposiciones, libros, coloquios y otras instancias relevantes del circuito artístico internacional en los últimos diez, quince años. 1 2 Esta obra colectiva de investigación y acción política y comunicacional, que pretendió incidir en el proceso revolucionario que se vislumbraba como inminente en 1968, es probablemente la experiencia del arte argentino sobre la que más páginas se han escrito. Pero no solo eso ha llegado a convertirse en una suerte de significante vacío que logra inscribirse en las cadenas argumentales más disímiles y asumir formas camaleónicas: un antecedente literario, el símbolo del compromiso militante, un graffitti, una exposición, un nombre adecuado para un bar (JACOBY, 2005 : 86-91).3 Tucumán Arde no incomoda: su voltaje revulsivo parece ser parte del pasado. Los indicios de canonización lo son también de su domesticación y pacificación al interior de un relato que conviene a la lógica fetichizadora y sus recortes unidimensionales de sentido, su devenir mercancía, su reducción como imagen, mera superficie (aplanada en su espesor disidente), fácilmente reproducible, intercambiable, digerible.
4Este proceso es indisociable de su sobredimensión respecto de otros episodios de la vanguardia de los 60, de los que escinde nítidamente como hito solitario. La operación por la cual se presenta como acontecimiento inédito y se desmarca de la trama en la que es producido y disputa su conflictividad y sus efectos de sentido (trama que involucra otras muchas experiencias de las que Tucumán Arde es claramente "deudora", como por ejemplo el grupo Arte de los Medios), subraya su excepcionalidad radical en el radicalicalizado año 1968, contribuyendo a fijarla como mito.
