Objetivo: evaluar la asociación entre la imagen corporal y las conductas alimentarias de riesgo en pacientes con obesidad. Métodos: se realizó un estudio transversal analítico, mediante muestreo aleatorio simple en pacientes con obesidad, derechohabientes de la Unidad de Medicina Familiar (umf) No. 75 del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (imss); previa firma de consentimiento informado. Se realizó estadística descriptiva y se determinaron frecuencias y porcentajes, la asociación entre imagen corporal y conductas alimentarias de riesgo se estimó mediante χ2. Resultados: se estudiaron 202 participantes con obesidad, de los cuales 68.8% eran mujeres y 32.2%, hombres, la media de edad fue de 40 años; de los que presentaron preocupación leve por la imagen corporal y las conductas alimentarias de riesgo, 37.9% presentó riesgo moderado (n=22) y 22.4%, riesgo alto (n=13); en cuanto a preocupación moderada, 26.9% representó riesgo moderado (n=7), 53.8%, riesgo alto (n=14); en relación con la preocupación extrema, 54.5% tuvo riesgo moderado (n=6) y 36.4%, riesgo alto (n=4). Se encontró una asociación estadísticamente significativa (p<0.0004) entre la imagen corporal y las conductas alimentarias de riesgo. Conclusión: la preocupación moderada a extrema por la imagen corporal se asoció a conductas alimentarias de riesgo en participantes con obesidad. Es necesario implementar programas en atención a las conductas alimentarias e identificar la percepción de la imagen corporal.
Objetivo: evaluar el conocimiento de la enfermedad y la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes hipertensos. Métodos: estudio transversal analítico realizado en la Unidad de Medicina Familiar No.75, mediante un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple. Se incluyeron 218 pacientes de 40 a 69 años con hipertensión arterial. Se evaluó el conocimiento de la enfermedad mediante el cuestionario de conocimientos sobre la hipertensión (csh) y la adherencia terapéutica con el instrumento mbg (Martín-Bayarre-Grau). Resultados: 95 participantes presentaron conocimiento alto (43.5%), 114, medio (52.4%) y 9, bajo (4.1); respecto a la adherencia terapéutica, 118 tuvieron una adherencia total (54.1%) y 100, parcial (45.8%). Se encontró una asociación estadísticamente significativa (p<0.05) entre conocimiento de la enfermedad y adherencia terapéutica, así como entre conocimiento y control de la hipertensión. Conclusión: el conocimiento sobre la hipertensión arterial se asoció a la adherencia total y a su control. Es importante implementar medidas para empoderar al paciente sobre el conocimiento de su enfermedad, la importancia de los hábitos de vida saludable y de la continuidad en la atención médica.
