A meningite e uma doenca infecciosa que acomete parte da populacao brasileira, em especial do Sudeste do pais. O presente artigo visa ressaltar a prevalencia da meningite nessa regiao, associados aos indicadores mais relevantes pre-estabelecidos, sendo eles: sexo, regiao e faixa etaria. Foram analisados diversos dados epidemiologicos no Sistema de Informacao de Agravos de Notificacao (SINAN), boletins epidemiologicos dos quatro estados do Sudeste e em artigos cientificos acerca da doenca supracitada. Seu intuito foi de desenvolver hipotese acerca de cada resultado e demonstra-los por meio de graficos e hipoteses. Com relacao aos indicadores pre-estabelecidos, dos infectados foram identificados 59% homens e 41% mulheres, com possivel explicacao relacionada a comportamentos e habitos higienicos. Em analise, a Regiao Sudeste se destacou como o maior centro de contaminacao, com maior foco em Sao Paulo. Contudo, acredita-se que o numero de casos nessa regiao destoa das demais, pelo fato da possivel existencia de subnotificacao em outras regioes e da maior concentracao populacional no Sudeste. Por fim, confirma-se que criancas menores de cinco anos sao mais acometidas e, dentre elas, aquelas com idade inferior a um ano sao as mais suscetiveis, alem de idosos. Com base nos dados e pesquisas realizadas para, verifica-se a necessidade de mais politicas publicas para a area e, tambem, o desenvolvimento de mecanismos de conscientizacao, com enfoque no sexo masculino, criancas e idosos.,
