RESUMOO joelho é uma articulação sinovial e provavelmente a mais complexa do corpo humano. Tendo como maior prevalência a osteoartrose como doença, presente em 25% dos indivíduos acima de 65 anos. O objetivo do estudo foi identificar a incidência e traçar o perfil da população com lesão no joelho, encaminhados à fisioterapia em uma unidade de reabilitação de média complexidade (NIR) em São José do Rio Preto. Realizou-se a coleta de dados como gênero, faixa etária, patologias no joelho, tempo de tratamento e condição de alta dos prontuários do Núcleo Integrado de Reabilitação (NIR). Nota-se que o maior número de indicações foi para a especialidade de fisioterapia. Foram averiguados 6944 prontuários. Sendo 1,54 % encaminhados para o serviço de Acupuntura; 90,12% Fisioterapia; 4,19 % Fonoaudióloga e 3,31% Terapia Ocupacional. Entre os pacientes encaminhados a Fisioterapia 70,61 % eram mulheres e 29,38% homens. Diante das várias lesões no joelho, o índice de osteoartrose foi mais predominate. Além disso, observou-se maior prevalência no tratamento conservador e na alta por abandono. A maioria dos pacientes encaminhados ao NIR é para o serviço de fisioterapia, sendo as mulheres mais acometidas por lesões no joelho e com maior faixa etária. Geralmente as indicações ao NIR é para o tratamento conservador de todas as patologias do joelho sendo a mais comum a osteoartrose, e com relação a alta observou-se que infelizmente um número significante de pacientes abandonaram o tratamento.
A articulação temporomandibular (ATM) realiza aproximadamente 2.000 movimentos ao dia, sendo a articulação com mais facilidade de sofrer disfunções. Dentre elas, destaca-se a Disfunção Temporomandibular (DTM), causada por diversos fatores, como a ansiedade e o estresse. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a incidência da DTM nos universitários, por meio do Questionário Anamnésico de Fonseca (QAF). Foram avaliados 500 universitários de ambos os gêneros de faixa etária dos 18 a 38 anos por meio do QAF. Dos universitários avaliados, 64% se enquadravam no gênero feminino. Com relação à severidade dos sintomas, 32% não apresentavam DTM, 51% DTM leve, 14% DTM moderada e 3% DTM severa, sendo que a maioria, tanto no gênero feminino, como no masculino tinha DTM leve. A maioria dos universitários apresentou DTM leve, sendo maior a incidência no gênero feminino.
