INTRODUÇÃO:O impacto do novo Coronavírus (COVID-19), Sars-CoV-2, nos segmentos da população em vulnerabilidade é uma realidade cada vez mais notória, tanto em países desenvolvidos, como em desenvolvimento. 1 No contexto brasileiro, esse paradigma alcança principalmente povos indígenas, que enfrentam a invisibilidade socioeconômica, os conflitos agrários que prejudicam sua territorialização, além da limitada acessibilidade das políticas públicas e serviços de saúde de prevenção, assistência e tratamento do COVID-19, o que acrescenta as condições de fragilização dos povos indígenas frente à pandemia. 2 OBJETIVO: Descrever o perfil da mortalidade por COVID-19 em povos indígenas da região Norte do Brasil. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, quantitativo e transversal acerca da população indígena afetada pela COVID-19, no período de 20 de março a 11 de agosto de 2020, com enfoque nos estados Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima e Tocantins, que compõem a região norte do país. Utilizou-se como base de dados o Comitê Nacional pela Vida e Memória dos Povos Indígenas organizado pela Articulação dos Povos Indígenas do Brasil (APIB) 3 , visto que detalha com maior exatidão a dimensão da população indígena afetada.
