RESUMOA presente investigação teve com objectivo principal estudar as relações entre exercício físico, autoconceito e o aproveitamento escolar em estudantes do segundo e terceiro ciclos de escolaridade com idades compreendidas entre os 12 e os 19 anos. Visa, ainda, constatar se os hábitos de exercício refletem as recomendações para a manutenção da saúde. A amostra foi constituída por 624 indivíduos (268 do sexo masculino, 354 do sexo feminino). Avaliouse o autoconceito através do Self-Description Questionnaire II (SDQ-II) (Marsh, 1990; versão portuguesa de Gonçalves & Vasconcelos-Raposo, 2001) e o aproveitamento escolar foi quantificado a partir do número de reprovações na escola. De uma forma geral conclui-se que existe uma relação positiva entre autoconceito e exercício físico e uma correlação também positiva entre o autoconceito e aproveitamento escolar. Palavras-chave: atividade física, exercício físico, autoconceito , aproveitamento escolar ABSTRACT The present study aimed to study the relationship between physical exercise, self-concept and school achievement in students of the second and third cycles of schooling aged 12 to 19 years. It also aims to verify if exercise habits reflect the recommendations for health maintenance. The sample consisted of 624 individuals (268 males, 354 females). The self-concept Questionnaire II (SDQ-II) (Marsh, 1990; Portuguese version of Gonçalves & Vasconcelos-Raposo, 2001) was used to measure self-concept and to evaluate the school achievement we took into consideration the accumulated number of failures in school. In general, it was concluded that there is a positive correlation between self-concept and physical exercise, as well as a positive correlation between self-concept and school performance.
Relaxation is a coping mechanism that helps to regulate emotions and is associated with prosocial responses. This paper included two studies: 1) a randomized clinical trial conducted with 139 university students who participated in a relaxation program and were assessed on interpersonal relationships over time; 2) a correlational study that assessed the relationship between emotional regulation, cognitive functioning, the importance attributed to sociability, and interpersonal relationships. Results revealed that interpersonal relationships did not change over time due to the relaxation intervention. The importance attributed to sociability played a moderating role in the relationship between emotional regulations and interpersonal relationships. The results suggest the need for further studies and emphasises the critical role of emotional regulation skills in university students.
The building materials used as a coating on the walls are exposed at different conditions of the weather for long periods of time, reason why is very important to determine the effects of sunlight, heat, humidity and other effects of climate change in the colour and the properties of these materials. In this work was carried out a study on the behaviour of colour and gloss of white cement with some different industrial waste additions submitted to ultra-violet light exposure. The addition of the different materials employed in this work does not modify lightness or chromatic coordinates after the exposure at ultraviolet light, however reduces significantly the gloss of the samples, including white Portland cement.
A realidade virtual pode ser definida como uma experiência imersiva, interativa e tridimensional que ocorre em tempo real. Com este trabalho pretendemos responder à questão "Como é que as medidas de autorrelato da experiência de jogo e as medidas fisiológicas de excitação estão correlacionadas?". A amostra foi constituída por 24 indivíduos do sexo masculino, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e 44 anos. Utilizamos dois questionários, HTC Vive, QuietComfort 15, o jogo Endless Night e o Nexus 10 MKII. Como principal resultado verificámos que os valores da frequência cardíaca e da atividade eletrodérmica variam em função dos níveis de dificuldade do jogo. Foi possível apurar que não existe uma relação entre o grau de satisfação e a excitação fisiológica nos diferentes níveis de dificuldade. Palavras-chave: realidade virtual, excitação fisiológica, frequência cardíaca, atividade eletrodérmica ABSTRACT The virtual reality can be defined as an immersive, interactive and tridimensional experience that occurs in real time. With this work we pretend to answer the following question: "How can the self report measures of game experience and the physiological measures of excitement be correlated?". The sample was composed by 24 men, with age between 18 and 44. For such, we used a two questionnaires, HTC VIVE, Quiet comfort 15, the Endless Night game, Nexus 10 MKII. The results, showed that the level of heart frequency and electrodynamic activity vary with the difficulty levels of the game. It was possible to find out that there is no correlation between the satisfaction level and the physiological excitement in the different difficulty levels.
