CLIMATIC RISK ZONING METHODOLOGIES FOR SOYBEAN CULTIVATION IN THE CERRADO BIOME ABSTRACT: Agriculture is an activity of risk and uncertainty. Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (ZARC) indicates what, where and when to plant to escape climate events. The objective of this work was to compare two methodologies for agricultural climate risk zoning of soybean (Glycine max (L) Merrill) in the Cerrado Biome. The Water Requirement Satisfaction Index (WRSI) was used considering the phenological phases critical to water deficit: Phase I (germination and emergence) and Phase III (flowering and grain filling). In the first approach, phase III was considered. In the second approach, phases I and III were considered. The SARRAZON program was used to simulate water balance. The low climate risk zone corresponded to WRSI > 0.50 in phase I; and WRSI > 0.65 in phase III. For comparison purposes, the sowing time, percentage of risk areas and number of recommended municipalities were considered. In the second methodology, the low risk zones were smaller. Soybean has been recommended in soils with the highest available water capacity. The high-risk areas were in the transition between the Caatinga and Pantanal biomes. This study guides soy agroclimatic risk and subsidizes public policies in the Cerrado. Keywords: agroclimatology; environmental management; agricultural policy; environmental planning.
Relationship to the use and occupation of Águas Lindas City and its environmental impacts A B S T R A C TChanges in land use and land cover impacts landscapes and environmental problems. In this sense, considering the municipality of Águas Lindas - GO, the objective of this paper is: to analyze land use and land cover; identify areas susceptible to erosion and assess soil loss. For the analysis of land use and land cover, the digital basis of the MapBiomas Project was used from 1985 to 2017. Erosion susceptibility was made by the Analystic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which analyzed the environmental variables (land use and occupation). soil, geology, geomorphology, soil classes and slope) with multi-scalar data obtained from the Goiás State Geoinformation System (SIEG). The universal soil loss equation (USLE) was used to estimate the losses caused by laminar and furrow erosion in relation to climate, soil, topography, soil use and management. The results show that the conversion process was constant until 1995 with 49% of natural cover and 49% of anthropic. From 1995 the annual loss of natural areas of the municipality was about 3%. The analysis of the erosive susceptibility of the municipality is very strong. Soil loss ranged from 0 to 135 tons / ha. year in the municipality (zero to strong). Agropastoral and urban activities developed in a way that intensified the process of soil degradation. It is understood that mobilization, supervision and sensitization in the forms of land use and occupation are necessary, contributing to the social and environmental good. Keywords: Land use and land cover; erosive susceptibility; soil loss; mitigation environmental impacts.
Climatological water balance and rainfall analysis of brazilian capitals affected by the water crisis: Brasília-DF e São Paulo – SP ABSTRACTWater scarcity affects a large part of humanity. With population growth and the phenomenon of climate change, the demand for water may increase. Therefore, understanding drought and rain events are essential to prepare society for a more serious situation. Therefore, the objective proposed here is to characterize the water balance and the rainfall trend of the cities of Brasília and São Paulo, which in recent years have experienced problems in public supply. Monthly data of total precipitation and average temperature from 1961 to 2017 obtained from the meteorological stations of Brasília-DF and Miramar-SP by the National Institute of Meteorology - INMET were used. To characterize the climatological water balance, the method of Thornthwaite and Mather (1955) was adopted. For the analysis of rainfall trends, rainfall data from the rainfall stations of Brasília-DF (Cod: 01547004) and Água Branca (Cod. 02346046), from the National Water Agency - ANA, from 1964 to 2018 and 1940 were used to 2012, respectively. Data were obtained using Hidroweb software. Both the city of Brasília and the city of São Paulo presented trends in the decrease of rainfall, in relation to the signal test. Although water scarcity is related to meteorological events, the causes of the crisis stem mainly from the lack of adequate and efficient management of water resources. That said, this type of study allows us to understand the situation of rainfall over the years and can help in planning for the use of this resource. Keywords: water, scarcity, historical series, water crisis.
