This article analyzes the gestures made by teaching professionals and clarifies the concepts of positioning and posture. This study is framed within situated and embodied cognition theories and revisits the phenomenological anchoring of enactive theory. Interviews were conducted with six trainers accompanying early-career teachers. A first series of semi-directed interviews collected the representations and the values that these trainers had concerning the notion of professional posture. The second part of the interview asked trainers to assess their experiences, especially the micro-information received. The purpose of this piece of research is to raise awareness on gestures which are not easy to perceive and on the meaning they contain.
