Introdução: Carências espirituais, tais como perda de conexão ou pertencimento, busca de sentido, dor e sofrimento podem emergir no instante em que o familiar recebe o diagnóstico de morte encefálica. A Enfermagem tem um papel dentro da sua assistência com um potencial às variadas dimensões do ser humano. Objetivo: mapear cuidados espirituais praticados pela enfermagem na assistência ao familiar no contexto de morte encefálica na UTI e analisar os cuidados propostos e sugestões para a prática clínica; para isso foi levantado duas perguntas de pesquisa: “Quais cuidados espirituais de Enfermagem na assistência aos familiares de pacientes no contexto de morte encefálica” e “Como se evidencia o cuidado espiritual de Enfermagem aos familiares de paciente na UTI”. Métodos: revisão de escopo, realizada nos meses de dezembro de 2022 e janeiro de 2023 em bases de dados nacionais e internacionais com os seguintes descritores: “família”; “espiritualidade” e “Unidade de terapia intensiva”. Foram lidos na íntegra 96 artigos, destes, 19 constituíram a amostra final. O material foi analisado e organizado por meio de estatística descritiva simples. Resultados: Respondendo a primeira pergunta da pesquisa, 4 estudos revisados abordam possibilidades de cuidados espirituais aos familiares de pacientes no contexto de morte encefálica e 15 estudos, responderam a segunda pergunta de pesquisa: “Como se evidencia o cuidado espiritual de Enfermagem aos familiares de paciente na UTI”. Conclusão: a Enfermagem carece de desenvolver mais estudos acerca da espiritualidade dos familiares em situação de ME, ser capacitada e alerta às distintas experiências, comportamentos, percepções e enfrentamentos dos familiares concernentes a vivência do processo de morte encefálica na UTI.
