Tanto na Filosofia moral, política e Filosofia da linguagem, a ideia de espaço público é pensada como meio de interação e interlocução entre os indivíduos no processo de circulação e tomada de decisão política e coletiva. Não se trata apenas de um espaço no sentido literal, mas no sentido metafórico, a reunião do conjunto de cidadãos, que entre si argumentam suas ideias e opiniões, e debatem o ideal para uma sociedade, é um ‘lugar’ que pode ser virtual ou físico. O privado por consequência representa o espaço particular, da intimidade, com papéis bem definidos dentro de uma hierarquização onde todo o espectro de construção individual se desenvolve, essa construção também é influenciada por aspectos morais e religiosos. As relações entre as esferas pública e privada demarcam a sociedade moderna. A função de uma esfera acaba por mesclar-se ao espaço e função da outra. A privatização do que é público, e a exposição do que é privado, acaba por uma nova perspectiva ao que se tinha como dicotomia indicando novas fronteiras. Esse artigo propõe-se a apresentar uma reflexão sobre a influência que o conceito de esfera pública de Hannah Arendt e Jürgen Habermas possui sobre a ideia de público e privado na teoria da filosofia política atual. Para sua realização dessa explanação, foi feito os seguintes passos: compreender os conceitos de esfera pública em Hannah Arendt e Jürgen Habermas, apresentar a influência que os conceitos desses dois pensadores exercem na filosofia política, sistematizar os elementos em relação a perspectivas de influências do debate político filosófico atual.
