ResumoO presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar e buscar correções para a uniformidade de emissão de água dos sistemas de irrigação instalados no Distrito de Irrigação do Baixo Acaraú (DIBAU). O trabalho foi conduzido em duas etapas em que a primeira consistiu de um levantamento de dados através de um questionário com todos os produtores existentes no perímetro; a segunda teve como objetivo selecionar uma amostragem de irrigantes para a realização de avaliações de sistemas de irrigação. O método usual para determinar Uniformidade Emissão (UE) consiste em selecionar, ao longo da linha de derivação, a primeira lateral, a situada a 1/3 do comprimento, a situada a 2/3 e a última lateral, utilizando a mesma metodologia de escolha linha lateral para a escolha dos emissores. Mediu-se a vazão de cada emissor, para cálculo dos coeficientes de uniformidade e, por meio destes, os sistemas foram classificados quanto a sua eficiência de distribuição. Apenas 27% dos setores avaliados atingiram a uniformidade de emissão recomendada que é de 90% para os sistemas de irrigação localizada. O manejo da irrigação, em todos os setores, não estava sendo empregado corretamente. Além da necessidade de se realizar avaliações periódicas em sistemas de irrigação do DIBAU, também, deve haver a consciência de adotar as recomendações técnicas para o uso eficiente da água na irrigação.
