Il se compose d'une trentaine de recettes pour soigner des autours et se caractérise par la précision des remèdes et les nombreuses indications de mesure et de posologie. Dans les recettes, Grimaldus n'utilise pas moins de 95 substances différentes, surtout des plantes, mais aussi des substances d'origine animale ou minérale et des preparata.
