Las organizaciones dinámicas se caracterizan por su complejidad, incertidumbre y capacidad para evolucionar y adaptarse a nuevos entornos. En los territorios rurales los cambios gestados en las sociedades modernas han propiciado la aparición de la denominada nueva ruralidad, que articula la tradicional dimensión productiva de agricultura con las restantes (social, institucional, ambiental, educativa y cultural), resultando en un ambiente más dinámico, competido y exigente para las organizaciones participantes. En este escenario, modelos horizontales de organización como las cooperativas retoman importancia para materializar la acción colectiva. Para abordar el tema se diseñó una investigación cualitativa, cuyo objetivo fue contrastar los fundamentos teóricos de las estructuras de organización vertical y horizontal para el desarrollo territorial rural. Los principales aportes revelan la idoneidad de las cooperativas como modelos de organizaciones horizontales más flexibles para la gestión del negocio rural. Estas permiten además alcanzar exitosamente una transición desde la teoría (ideal de la acción colectiva) a la práctica (organizaciones sociales hacia fines comunes específicos), basada en los recursos y especificidades del territorio, así como en la sustentabilidad de las funciones por ellas ejecutadas en el tiempo y en la cohesión comunitaria.
la promoción de los procesos de vinculación con la sociedad, la universidad tiene un papel clave como agente de progreso, tanto en la formación de profesionales competentes para su desarrollo, como en la ejecución de actividades de vinculación dirigidas a grupos de personas de ayuda prioritaria. Todo esto parte de la detección de las necesidades y potencialidades de cada territorio en particular. Estas actividades son logradas a partir de la articulación de los elementos sustantivos de docencia, investigación y vinculación universitaria. No obstante, en diciembre de 2019, China anuncia los primeros casos de infección del genoma del SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19). La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) declara la epidemia como pandemia. A causa de esta afirmación, las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), a nivel mundial, deciden cerrar sus puertas de manera presencial, afectándose de esta manera los procesos académicos regulares. Como principio para salvaguardar la salud pública en Ecuador, a mediados del primer trimestre del año 2020, se decreta el confinamiento de toda la población. Esto provoca que las IES replanteen la posibilidad de continuar con los procesos académicos, fortaleciendo aspectos de innovación y tecnología. El propósito de este estudio es comprender la capacidad de gestión de las IES para afrontar la situación y continuar con las actividades desde el confinamiento social. Para el abordaje temático, se diseñó una investigación cualitativa, cuyo objetivo fue contrastar los fundamentos teóricos con la realidad observable, desde el contexto de las actividades en el ámbito académico. A manera de reflexión, se ha podido demostrar el importante desempeño de las IES para asumir, con resiliencia, la llegada y permanencia de la pandemia por COVID-19, administrando y gestionando efectivamente las funciones sustantivas, buscando atender las necesidades del entorno social en el que interactúa.
