Este antimanual no es un documento oficial; es un juego de palabras. El feminismo no pretende modificar el lenguaje, sino cambiar la vida. El lenguaje incluyente no sexista es una pequeña insurrección feminista en contra de los usos lingüísticos que invisibilizan, ofenden, estereotipan, discriminan, relegan, inferiorizan, banalizan, ignoran, menosprecian, agreden, insultan, sexualizan, calumnian o ridiculizan a las mujeres y a los sujetos feminizados. Su móvil principal es político, no lingüístico ni estético. Nadie nos puede imponer el lenguaje incluyente. Pero tampoco nos lo puede nadie prohibir. El Antimanual de la lengua española. Para un lenguaje no sexista, coeditado por el Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios de Género y la Dirección General de Publicaciones y Fomento Editorial, ofrece un puñado de sugerencias puntuales que pueden servir como punto de partida para recordarnos, en cada enunciación, la posibilidad de nombrar en femenino o en masculino, en neutro o en genérico auténtico y en diversidad.
Los movimientos de la disidencia sexogenérica encarnan aquello que Carlos Monsiváis denominó una “geopolítica del relajo y el deseo” (Monsiváis 1998: 56). Su carácter rebelde, confrontativo, pero también gozoso y placentero, les han convertido en agentes clave para la crítica a los discursos hegemónicos sobre el género, el sexo y el deseo a lo largo y ancho de las ciudades, los barrios y las zonas rurales de nuestro continente. Estos movimientos, además, son el sitio de encuentro de una serie de apuestas teórico-conceptuales feministas y cuir necesarias para los procesos de nombramiento y reconocimiento de identidades y comunidades diversas, así como de nuevas posibilidades de ser/estar en el mundo.
La metáfora, como expresión viva del lenguaje, no solo disfraza significados, sino que también hace cosas. Este ensayo presenta una breve revisión de las metáforas oceánicas que han descrito al feminismo desde finales del siglo XIX. Con los años, las olas feministas se establecieron como una narrativa maestra que, si bien es útil en términos didácticos, presenta una serie de problemas: la falta de consenso en la academia feminista sobre el número existente de olas, la aparente necesidad de ubicar en estas todos los sucesos considerados relevantes en la historia del feminismo –que en su mayoría tuvieron lugar en países del Norte Global–, y otros más. Estos problemas nos hacen cuestionar quién tiene la autoridad epistemológica para decidir qué sucesos son relevantes para pertenecer a la narrativa o para inaugurar una nueva ola, y cuáles son los acontecimientos que quedan fuera de la historia. Como feministas en América Latina, particularmente en México, las autoras señalan la invisibilización de los feminismos de nuestra región dentro de las olas y proponen mirar hacia otro fenómeno marino, los remolinos, para narrarnos dentro de este amplio océano feminista en el que navegamos.
