RESUMO:O trabalho teve como objetivo delimitar e caracterizar a ocorrência de conflitos de uso do solo nas Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APP). A localização do estudo tem como referência o centroide de um sistema estuarino lagunar, que possui as seguintes coordenadas geográficas: 09º 50' 0" de latitude sul e 35º 57' 30" de longitude oeste. O ponto de partida do presente estudo foi a criação de vetores no banco de dados que foram representados graficamente em um novo tema, utilizando a ferramenta área de abrangência do software ArcGIS 10.2. A área de abrangência das APP foi determinada com base na legislação ambiental brasileira em vigor. Os conflitos na região em questão foram determinados pela avaliação dos cruzamentos de informações: de área de proteção permanente e de uso do solo, na qual se constatou que os usos como áreas urbanas e culturas agrícolas estão, em sua maioria, conflitando com as áreas de preservação permanente em bordas de tabuleiros e nas margens de cursos d'água e da laguna. Contudo, o estudo demonstra que a integração de sensoriamento remoto e sistema de informação geográfica é uma forma eficaz para analisar a direção, velocidade e padrão espacial da mudança do uso da terra.
