The transition between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems has been known as Riparian Zone. The riparian zone is where generally water flows rarely stagnant, which river is an intermediate plateu. Conversely, rivers, stream or lakes water flows can be stagnant in common situation. Svejcar in his article stated that as transition, riparian zone tends to have characteristics of both upland and aquatics ecosystems. Water contamination brings the effect on reforming the environment degradation whether they are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment. Various notable water rehabilitation projects in leading countries led to their substantial economic returns for many aspects by the government-led initiatives. Nature-inclusive solution has been heavily concerned for the mega projects. In which ecological landscape design can provide the ecosystem services to balance the engineering driven restoration projects. To include, the best practice management requires extended understanding of the pattern in order to allow optimum evaluation of the process relationship. This research is conducted by an explanatory method where writer observe the relevant writings and theory to evaluate riparian areas with support on both primary and secondary data. A comparison table has been conducted to determine the most optimum approach has done by three different cities in two big countries. They are Siak River, Riau, Indonesia between Citarum River in Bandung and Yangtze River in China. This comparison will explain the elements observe among the three rivers and follow by the explanatory theory that has been conducted, a best practice management for landscape design to be evaluate.
As a UNESCO World Heritage, Sawahlunto Ex Coal Mining has the profound and lasting impact of the industrialization and social changing relations which has built the history remarkable as per today. To facilitate public on having mindful memories of the place, an interpretation of evidence and information need to emerge with a suitable flow and approach. Discover perspectives and improving interpretation on conservation area which has changing gradually because the community impact has always been a degrading issue. We often ignore the neighborhoods needs to commercial purpose. The historic district assessed by analysis and qualitative research method from the past and present documentation through site inventory and relevant studies of the living culture. The aim of this paper is to bring better conservation strategies that can enhance the overall cultural image of Sawahlunto. Collective memory, habit changing, site management, and material security supposed to be co-habitant through times. In order to keep the familiarization and to be a place of original community can be secure, content, and proud of.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is regarded as one of the pioneers of modernist architecture. Rohe’s works in both architecture and products showed his own characteristics and these characteristics appeared repeatedly in different works. His design is simple and exquisite, and gradually formed Rohe’s design vocabulary and style. The design of his works concise and refined, both elegant and popular. This research uses Form Synth style analysis to analyze Rohe’s style characteristics and shaping rules, and integrates them in a form of construction. It summarizes the design process of Rohe’s design style reproduction, and verifies the feasibility of form construction and redesigns the new products of Rohe’s style. Products, hope to provide Rohe’s design experience, so that Rohe’s design style can be continued. It is more verified that the form construction method can be reproduced.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
